Question:
I have a 2012 Subaru Forester and would like a recommendation on a hitch for the use of a bike rack for 2 adult bikes. What would you suggest? Thanks

I did some research and your 2012 Subaru Forester has a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. Even though my hitch receiver recommendation, Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2", part # 75650, has a maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs, you will be limited to the lowest maximum weight in the system. I like this hitch receiver because it has larger safety chain loops, in the event you ever tow a trailer, AND aesthetically I prefer the square tubes to round tubes. In this case, your vehicle is the limiting factor.
Once you have the hitch receiver, we can work on the bike rack. My hitch bike recommendation is the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Black, part # SH22B. This hitch bike rack weighs 32 lbs, leaving you with 168 lbs for your bikes.
I have included product description links, an installation video link, and a video review link below.
