Propane Regulator no Longer Allowing Gas Flow

Question:

When we switch from our 30 gallon onboard LP tank to a 20 lb tank, the burners on our range won’t light and the hydronic water heater doesn’t produce sufficient hot water. When I switch back to the larger tank, it works fine. Is this a regulator issue? It’s 11 years old. Should be replaced and will that resolve the problem?

What you are describing does sound like a regulator failure, and that isn't too surprising due to it being 11 years old. RV regulators have a lifespan of about 10 to 15 years, and that's the time frame in which they should be replaced. You can use either a horizontal or vertical regulator as a replacement:

- Horizontal Low Pressure 2-Stage RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30385

- Vertical Low Pressure 2-Stage RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30365
