Hello, I have an older Reese trunnion bar system that my parents used in the late 70s and early 80s. Will the new bars like the 22225 fit my old weight distribution head?

I spoke with Reese and they mentioned that the Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar for Reese Weight Distribution System # RP22225 will not work with your vintage ball mount, unfortunately. They mentioned they are incompatible because of the changes to the trunnion diameter and height.

Instead, you may consider upgrading your system. If you're looking for a system that works with the Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar for Reese Weight Distribution System # RP22225, you'll want to use the Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank # RP66541.

This system includes an adjustable shank, the system head, lift brackets, and the spring bars.

The JR Products #37210015 measures roughly 0.0625" thick, or 1.58mm. The other option available that might work is the Camco RV Vinyl Trim Insert - Black - 25' Long x 1" Wide #CAM25113 which is 1.25mm thick.
