Question:
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 with automatic transmission. According to your website, I need BX1110 baseplate to flat tow. Is this compatible with BX7380 and/or BX7365? Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # BX1110 and the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,500 lbs # BX7380 will fit together perfectly.
If you are going to be flat towing you will also need a braking system like the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524.
A Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord # RM-152-98146-7.
This will keep you lights synced up and keep you safe.
You are probably going to need a Curt High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 4" Rise/Drop - 8" Long # C59KR. You want to make sure your RV and tow vehicle are within 3 inches level with each other so you do not cause any harm to your suspension system.
Just park the RV and the Jeep in line with each other on a flat surface. Measure from the ground to the middle of your receiver opening on the RV. Next measure from the ground up to the middle of the base plate arms on the Jeep. You want those two measurements to be within three inches of each other. That is where you use the Hi-low adapter to move the tow bar up or down to level it out.
