Is there a safe bike rack for a 2011 Mercedes E350 convertible? Is it possible to put a trailer hitch/bike rack on a convertible?

To transport bikes with your 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-350 Convertible I recommend using the Yakima HangOut trunk mount bike rack. This comes in a 2-Bike # Y02637 version as well as a 3-Bike # Y02638 version to accommodate your application. This is a more basic trunk mount rack but Yakima makes top-notch products so I know you won't be disappointed. You can upgrade this rack to add locks with parts # Y02623 and # Y07233, and then don't forget to pick up an Adapter Bar # Y02531 if any of your bikes doesn't have a horizontal top tube.
Hitch mounted bike racks are typically my recommendation because it means they won't be making contact with your vehicle, but in your situation there are no trailer hitches designed to fit your vehicle and a roof rack is out of the question since you have the convertible feature. With all of that being said, the HangOut it completely safe and I have no problems recommending a trunk mount rack. Just be sure you follow the instructions and remove the bikes and rack prior to accessing your trunk.
I've attached some review videos for you to check out as well.
