What Brakes and Grease Seals do You Recommend for My 2021 Airstream Bambi 19CB?
Question:
I have part inquiry. I have a 2021 AIRSTREAM TRAVEL TRAILER BAMBI 19CB I would like to replace the brakes on this trailer. Upon putting my vehicle information and doing a search I am getting brakes for upto 3500lbs on the axle However the current brakes that are installed on the trailer are part no. 023-459-00 RIGHT HAND Can you tell me which one is the correct part? Also I would like to purchase a grease seal. Can you also point me to the correct part on your site?

I went ahead and confirmed with Airstream that you your specific model of Bambi could have a 3500 pound axle or a higher capacity which is where some of the confusion may arise. Since you already have the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 12" # 23-459 installed, this tells me that you have the higher capacity axles and not the 3500 pound axles. 3500-pound brakes are 10-inches in diameter while the higher capacity brakes are 12 inches in diameter (which you need). For the left side, the corresponding brake is the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 12" - Left Hand # 23-458.
As far as the grease seals, you most likely have the Grease Seal - Double Lip - 2.250" ID - 3.376" OD - GS-2250DL # GS-2250DL. However, I recommend measuring the inner and outer diameter to make sure your seal is 2.250" and the outer diameter measures 3.376". If you need calipers to do this measurement, I recommend the # PTW80157. Also, another way you can confirm your grease seals is if you match the number on the seal to the GS-2250DL.
