How to Lock a Demco Hijacker to Factory Puck System

Question:

Hello, I recently bought the Demco hijacker 18K slider for Ford OEM puck system from you guys. I dont plan on really taking it out of the bed of the truck very often and was wondering if there was a lock option for the hitch itself to the truck? I seen the 1/2in lock you offer for 5th wheel hitches but I dont think that would work for the OEM puck system. Thanks for your time

I see what you are talking about, without the above bed rails you wouldn't have a point to attach the lock. Looking at the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550024, I think the best way to lock the hitch would be to replace the clevis pin that secures the handle locking the puck in place with a lock. This would prevent the handle from being turned which would keep the pucks locked in place.

A lock like the etrailer Trailer Coupler Latch Lock # e98884 could pass through the top hole and prevent the handle from being turned to release the puck. You may be able to find a lock that feeds through both the top and bottom hole but you would need to measure the space under the bottom hole to ensure the locking mechanism would fit.
