Hitch Receiver Comparison For 2020 Honda Passport
Question:
Hello, Looking in getting a trailer hitch. What the difference of these 2?

The major difference is going to be in weight capacity.
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76290 has a gross trailer weight of 6000 pounds and a max tongue weight of 900 pounds.( If you add weight distribution hardware the GTW goes up to 8000 pounds)
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13421 on the other hand has a lower gross trailer weight at 5000 pounds and a max tongue weight of 750 pounds. ( Weight distribution will get this one up to 6000 pounds)
After those two differences things start to get smaller and similar.
Basically if you want to tow a trailer I recommend the draw tite. If you want to use accessories like bike mounts and cargo boxes I recomend the Curt.
If you are going to be towing you will need a wire harness and a ball/ball mount. I suggest getting the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56291 and the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs
# 989900.
I will link some video guides to help you along. If you are going to be using the hitch to mount racks or cargo managment systems let us know and we can help you find the right solution to your needs.
