Are Air Bags Necessary With a Weight Distribution System.
Question:
If I use a weight distribution hitch when towing a trailer, would I also benefit from air bags or is these redundant?

Although you can use air bags like the # F2582 with a hitch like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET, it would more than likely be redundant. A properly adjusted weight distribution system should negate the need for air bags.
When it comes to choosing a WDH the most important thing is tongue weight. The # EQ37100ET is rated for 600-1,000 lbs of tongue weight. Ideally you want the tongue weight of your loaded trailer to fall into the middle of that range. If it is too low you will have a rigid ride and bouncy trailer, if it is more than the hitch is rated for it will be ineffective.
Assuming your tongue weight is between 600-1,000 lbs, the Equal-i-zer system is a great choice. You will also need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the hitch ball.
I have attached a review video along with some helpful articles on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for your reference.
