LED Taillights Flickering & Stopped Working on Trailer
Question:
I replaced the rear incandescent light assembly with LED fixtures. They worked initially but then failed. If I Unplugged the trailer from the truck I could get maybe 1 cycle of turn signal or brake then nothing. No issues with the truck lights. I read while troubleshooting the problem that current draws are different and this can cause problems, flickering and even failure. This is the only change I made so seems like it may be the cause. What say you? Should i change back the incandescent fixtures.

You are right that the current draws are different, as LEDs draw less of a current than incandescent, and the issue you are having is pretty common. You don't have to replace your LEDs though, all you'll need to do is install load resistors:
- Load Resistor Kit for LED Turn Signals # DI34ZR
The # DI34ZR are a quantity of two so you'll have one for each turn/brake light.
