Is The Yakima Crossbar Weight Limit Dynamic Or Static, What Roof Rack Do You Recommend For A Mazda 3

Question:

I was looking at getting fix mount bars for my 2021 Mazda 3 hatchback and the is a crossbar weight limit listed at 220lbs. Is this for static or dynamic weight with the bars. I passed the IRL for what I was looking at.

The weight limit of the crossbar is a dynamic weight limit. It is also independent of the rack itself. For example, on your 2021 Mazda 3, the Yakima roof rack has a weight limit of 125 lbs. The maximum weight limit of your roof rack is based on the part of the system with the lowest weight rating. In this case, it is your 2021 Mazda 3's roof that lowers the weight capacity. My recommended roof rack for your Mazda 3 will consist of the following items:

Yakima CoreBar Crossbars - Steel - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2, part # Y00421
SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4, part # Y53TR
Landing Pad 22 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 4, part # Y00248
Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 4), part # Y07204

This roof rack installs to the fixed points on your roof, so the crossbar spread is fixed. I included the Yakima lock cores so you can secure this rack to the roof of your vehicle.

I have included product description links and video links below.
