Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and I want to flat tow it behind a 2022 Entegra 29S class A motorhome. I have watced your videos and it looks like there is a kit for my Cherokee Trailhawk. Do have locations that actually do installation for me. I live in St George Utah, the largest city close to me would be Las Vegas or Salt Lake City Utah. Please advise

To ensure you get everything you need to flat tow your 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk I'll go over parts you'll need.

First you'll need base plates, for this I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-5. These direct-connect make connecting and disconnecting from the tow bar a breeze. The removable arms provide a nice clean look for you Trailhawk when not in use.

Next you'll need the tow bar, for this I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. This tow bar features non-binding latches and a large hookup radius to make connecting and disconnecting on any terrain easy peasy.

Next you'll need a tow bar wiring kit to transfer the turning and braking signals from your motorhome to your Trailhawk. For this I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247. This diode kit allows you to use your Jeep Cherokee's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

Note: If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you'll need the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM47ZR and Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-146-7 instead.

From there you'll need a braking system, for this I recommend the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote from the cab of your motorhome. The included charge line kit will keep your Trailhawk's battery charged as you tow so you won't have to worry about arriving at your destination and then having to deal with a dead battery.

Lastly you'll need some safety cables, for this I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.

You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and vehicle. This will require some measuring on your part so I've attached our help article on determining the correct rise/drop needed for your application.

For installation of all of these items you can look at any product page and click the "Locate Installers Near Me" link located directly below the videos/pictures for each item. Once you click that link it will take you to a page that will have you enter in your zip code and will generate a list of installers near you.
