Firestone F2525 Air Helper Springs and Wireless Air Compressor for a 2014 Ford F-150

Question:

I own a 2014 F 150 4x4 extended cab. I ordered the Firestone F 2525 air suspension system to assist with towing and loads in the bed. I have 285 70 R 17 A/T tires , about 11.5 sectional width, about 3/4 inch wider than stock. Are my tires too wide for the 8inch from tire to frame requirement? My rough measure tells me I have adequate space. Will the bags raise the height of the rear of the truck when unloaded and 20# or so of pressure? An inch or so wouldnt bother me because I leveled the front 1.5 inches. Will I need any spacer at the base of the F 2525? I appreciate the professional way Ive been treated by etrailer staff. Long term customer. Thanks!

Looking at the manual for the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2525 it states that installation of this kit requires a minimum of 6" of clearance between the tire side wall and the vehicle frame and a 1/2" of clearance around the air spring when inflated. You can measure to confirm but if your new tires are only 3/4" wider than stock you should have plenty of room. The air bags will only raise the height of your F-150 if your suspension has been completely worn out and sags. Even then it won't be much. These are designed to cushion your rear suspension under heavy loads not lift your truck. If you have not done a lift kit on your truck and it still has the stock suspension in place with no extra blocks the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2525 will not require any spacers.

I recommend adding an air compressor to your setup. The Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs item # AL74000EZ is a wireless, onboard compressor system, with Bluetooth that allows you to fill your air springs at the touch of a button. The WirelessAIR also automatically maintains pre-set air pressure levels. It lets you adjust 2 air springs independently with the wireless remote control. This allows you to level your vehicle front to back. It also allows you to get side-to-side leveling of off-center loads by inflating each spring with a different amount of air.
