Alternate to the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:

I have a 2021 chevy silverado 2500hd 69 bed and am currently using an andersen ultimate hitch to tow my 13k vengeance toy hauler. I have had an issue with the camper being to close to the bed rails and touching on off angle turns. I was looking at the reese goose ball and was wondering if it would help with this issue. If not what would be the best hitch setup for my truck. I am looking for something easy to remove as I use the truck bed alot. That is the reason I went with andersen. Thanks My truck has the 6'9" bed and I do have the OEM 5th wheel prep with the puck system.

The Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter, # AM3200 definitely has its value in certain applications. It also, unfortunately, has its drawbacks. For your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 short bed with the OEM Prep Package I think the best option is the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3775 for 20K hitch which is more than suited for the Toy Hauler you listed. Just an FYI, the # BWRVK3715 is available too for a 25K hitch rating. This is specially designed to attach to the receivers in your factory 5th-wheel towing prep package, the slider base on this hitch helps eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. I like the 1" thick jaws on the Companion. These are precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection and securely wrap around your trailer's king pin. The cam-action latching handle helps prevent binding, is simple to release, even on unlevel terrain. The B&W is noted as having a superior powder coating and is made in USA with materials sourced from the USA too.
