On your Valley Journey brake controller, a flashing LED light indicates a short to ground or on the brake output circuit. This is usually a result of a dirty or corroded trailer connector on the vehicle or trailer side. Corrosion can build up on the pins and in the backs of connectors where the wires attach. Also, while traveling, the trailer connector could have pulled out some and resulted in a less than solid connection.
You can also test the controller using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Use it to test the blue wire at the back of the controller. First sever the wire and then test the end coming from the controller while applying the manual override. It should only show power with the manual override. If it shows power at any other time, then the controller is bad and needs to be replaced.
If it checks out, reattach the blue wire then move on to the trailer. Inspect the magnet wiring. You can further test the magnets by following the FAQ I have linked for you.
