Will the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System Fit a Trailer With 4 Inch C Channel Frame

Question:

I’m trying to figure out if the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW RP66083 will work on a 4 inch c channel frame. I don’t see why it wouldn’t looking at the install instructions but the smallest frame height they show in their examples is 5 inches. Thanks

The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083 will not have a problem fitting a 4" high frame. It will fit any trailer frame height as long as the width is no larger than 2-1/2". That being said, you will not be able to use this WDH with your frame style. While you would be able to install the snap up bracket, you would be unable to install the cams.

Instead, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET. This system has 4-point sway control and uses brackets that will clamp on to your trailer frame. In order to fill the gap on your frame you can use a wood block or something similar for installation. This system has a tongue weight range of 600-1,000 lbs. You will also need a 1-7/8" thin walled socket like the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.

I have attached some review videos for your reference.
