I recommend using a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch # EQ37121ET as this will work the best to move the ball mount away form your motorhome while also allowing you to level your 24' box trailer. While the weight distribution may not be as important to you, the sway control you gain will be a great benefit. Sway control will help ensure that your trailer tracks straight behind you and does not sway from side to side due to high winds or other large vehicles on the roadway. This system is rated for a trailer with a tongue weight between 800-1,200lbs and a maximum trailer weight of 12,000lbs.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 is their extended shank that will also allow you to adjust the hitch head height from a 4" drop to an 8" rise.
You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the included 2-5/16" hitch ball that comes with the Equal-i-zer hitch.
