In order to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 on a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 you should be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3021-P which offers a plug-in play install. If you wish to hardwire you will need to remove the factory connector from the harness under the dash and then test each of the wire for function and attach to the hardwire harness that comes with the controller. The black wire on the hardwire harness for the controller is for power, the white wire is ground, the red wire is for the stop light circuit, and the blue wire is for brake output.
We don't have any way to look up wiring diagrams for the vehicle which is why we recommend simply using the plug-in harness for this vehicle but the hardwire one can be used if you know how to work a circuit tester.
