Is There an Aftermarket GM Prep Package Available for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:

I have 2012 2500hd silverado, but it has a newer bed off of like 2016 2500hd. Is there a underbed puck system that would align with the factory holes in the bed that would work with my truck?

The under bed puck systems are actually going to attach to the frame so the key thing here is the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 frame. I have a couple options for you depending on what you have going on in your truck bed already. If you do not already have holes in your bed for the prep system but instead just have the indentions where the holes would go then I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868. This is not going to line up exactly with those holes/indentions because it is not the GM prep package (there is not a GM package available for your truck), but if you don't already have holes you can just cut the holes where they will be needed. This is the only puck system available that fits your 2012's frame. This would allow you to use specific hitches like the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921. You could also use the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter # RP30156 to allow you to use any hitch that attaches to industry standard rails.

If you already have holes in your truck bed then the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1012-5W would be more likely to line up with the existing turnover ball hole. You may just have to enlarge that hole for this to fit but it would let you use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W. This would not be the typical puck system application, as it would use a turnover ball to mount the hitch.

You may also want to add the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # 41157. This is going to allow you to move a 7-way connector up into the bed of your truck for easier hook-up, while retaining the use of your factory 7-way at the rear of your truck.
