For your 2009 Toyota Matrix Type S I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12228. This is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a maximum tongue weight of 250 lbs to handle your bike rack. This hitch has a gloss black powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty.
I would choose this hitch over the Draw-Tite # 24812 because of the higher tongue weight capacity. This means it can handle more weight from your bikes. It also does not have the same two bike restriction that the Draw-Tite Class I hitch has.
I have attached an installation video for your reference.
