Troubleshooting a 2000 Chevy Silverado with No Brake Lights on the Trailer Plug

No brake light power on trailer plug, turn signals work

The first thing I would do is inspect the front and back of your trailer plug for corrosion on the brake light circuit and clean as necessary. Typically when the problem you described arises its because of corrosion.
Next I would use a circuit tester like our part # 3808 and and test the back side of the connector to see if the voltage is making it to the connector. If there is voltage there then you know the problem lies somewhere in the trailer plug and should be inspected for loose wiring and fixed as necessary. If no voltage is present you will need to trace the wires back up the vehicle testing it periodically to see if you can find where the problem is and fix as necessary.
You may also check your fuse box for any trailer plug related fuses and replace with working fuses if damaged ones are found.
