I have a great 1-1/4" hitch solution for your 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Curt that the Curt Hitch # C11083 will not fit your vehicle. This hitch is only confirmed to fit 2001-2005 Jettas. Even if the body styles are very similar, there is still the possibility small differences between the design and the mounting components/hardware.

With that being said, as a great alternative, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11070.
