Recommended Tire Chains For A 2016 Tesla Model X With 265/50R19 Tires
Question:
Im interested in the tire chains for my 2016 Tesla Model X, but I have aftermarket snow tires on them that are 265/50R-19. The tesla website indicates that the K67s are recommended, but the tires I have came with a lug installation tool that slips over the lugs and allows me to use a standard size driver.. And it slips right off as well How would you attach the k67 for something like that?

The K67's are recommended because they are Class-S Compatible which means they're low-profile to fit the minimal spacing you have between the tire and wheel well. It does have different clips to match the size of your lug nuts for a snug fit but you can just avoid this mounting style by going with another Class-S tire chain like the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - Easy Fit SUV - Size 265 # th04115265.
This self-tensioning snow chain can be installed in four easy steps:
1. Open the rigid arch section of the chain and pull the sides apart.
2. Drape the chain over the top of the tire and tug down to fit it all the way around the bottom.
3. Swing the pedal out and step on it, pushing it down the track of the center bar until it clicks in place at the bottom.
4. Flip the pedal up into the travel position to lock in place.
There won't be the hassle of having to mount the chains to the lug nuts out in the cold with this mounting style. I've attached a video below where you Adam will show you just how easy it is to install and remove these chains.
