Replacement U-Bolt for a Thule Canyon XT Cargo Basket
Question:
Can I use this part as a u bolt replacement for the Thule canyon XT basket? I have the Thule aero blade roof rack and need a 2in high and 4in wide bolt.

Expert Reply:
I have a solution for you but I contacted the manufacturer regarding this question and they informed that the Replacement U-Bolt for Thule Sidekick Cargo Box # TH02943 will not fit a Thule Canyon XT basket. They also told me that there is not a 4" wide option that is compatible with the Canyon XT. The Canyon XT Baskets like the # TH859XT use a 3-1/2" wide mounting point, so that is as wide of a U-Bolt that you can use. The replacement U-Bolt that is as close to the 4" x 2" you want is the # TH84FW which is 3-1/2" x 2". If you have the Thule AeroBlade crossbars the 3-1/2" wide U-Bolt will fit those crossbars.
