Should I Replace Both Of The Lock Cylinders On My Thule Cascade Box XT On My 2018 Rogue SL
Question:
Both locks have been iffy for a couple years now but three days ago after 27 hours of travel, key broke in the lock - deep in so you can barely see it. After many hours of videos Im afraid there is no getting it out. I have received new keys and a cylinder the master key should be arriving today. Neither new key will work on the other lock - which was also always finger-crossing iffy. should have bought 2 cylinders ?????. So not sure what my next steps are as I am four days trying to get into the box. Do I drill the lock with the broken key or drill the lock without the broken key? I think I read somewhere about another key that might help?? But not sure why the service department would not have suggested this at the time I spoke to them. They are now closed for the weekend - as you might be too ??. Im getting a little desperate here so I may have tried something by the time I hear back.

It really sounds like you need to have both locks replaced at some point. My advice for you depends on if you are still going to be traveling during the holidays. If that is the case, you should drill out the cylinder that does not have the stuck key. This way you should not be able to accidentally use a key in the wrong lock. You will be using one lock and the other lock will still have a key stuck in it. If you are done with your travel for the holidays, replace both lock cylinders.
We do offer lock cylinders in multiples of two, such as the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 2, part # TH450200. You can also order a 2nd lock cylinder to match the one you
