Will the Thule T2 Pro XTR Hitch Mounted Platform Bike Rack Fit on a 2011 GMC Terrain
Question:
2011 GMC Terrain. Will the TH83JV work with my vehicle?

Expert Reply:
For your 2011 GMC Terrain the Thule T2 Pro XTR Platform bike rack # TH83JV would work as long as you have a 2 inch receiver opening and the distance from the edge of the bumper to the center of the hitch pin hole is less than 7 inches.
From my research it appears that the GMC Terrain can have either a Class II with a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch opening or a Class III with a 2 inch receiver hitch opening. If your Terrain is equipped with a 1-1/4 inch receiver then the Thule T2 Classic # TH9045 would work great for you. This is a similar bike rack, but is meant to be used on Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers.
The T2 # TH83JV has a maximum weight capacity of 120 pounds, or 60 pounds per bike. It can accommodate a range of wheel sizes from 20 to 29 inches, as well as tire widths up to 5 inches. If you think you might want to carry more bikes the Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH69TX can be set up to carry 2 or 4 bikes as needed.
I have included links to the parts listed above as well as a video of the T2 in both a 1-1/4 and a 2 inch hitch receiver on a vehicles similar to yours for your reference.
