Furrion 4 Door RV Refrigerator # FCR14ACBQASS Latch Functionality

Question:

I am inquiring about the storage latch which holds the doors slightly open for winter storage. Kevin C referenced part #17 but highlighted part #7. Im not sure if he is telling me to shut and latch the door normally which I am not asking about , if the storage latch is already on the fridge unit which I dont see or if I need to order a particular STORAGE latch parts

I went out to our warehouse and unboxed the Furrion RV Refrigerator - 4 Door - Stainless Steel - 14 Cu Ft # FCR14ACBQASS to check out how the latch functions. The depiction of the latch in the manual is a bit misleading. Part # 7 is showing what is inside of the door, so when you actually look at the door you just see the tip of the latch. There is a plate on the body of the fridge that has holes to catch the latch from each door. You have to push moderately harder than you normally would to close the doors to pop the latch into place in the plate and secure the door, hence the clicking noise I mentioned in your previous question. If you do not push hard enough the doors will stay open, which is why the manual states that the latch could be used to keep the doors open and prevent odors while your RV is in storage.
