Comparing the Hijacker and Companion Sliding Hitches for a 2022 Ram 2500 Short Bed With Pucks

It seems that you guys push for the demco hijacker and the bandw companion a lot for fifth wheel hitches. I have a 2022 Ram 2500 short bed with the pucks and I'm not sure which one will be better for me. What do you recommend?

Great question! Let me start off by saying that both the Demco Hijacker, parts # DM8550035 and # DM6099 and the B&W Companion, part # BWRVK3670, are great 5th wheel hitches for your 2022 Ram 2500 short bed with OEM Puck System. The ride quality and general build of both are worth noting and no matter which one you choose I know you'll be happy.
With all of that being said, I recommend going with the Hijacker over the Companion for 2 reasons; it gives you an automatic slider so that you can remain in the comfort of your cab during tight turning situations, and it has a wider range of height adjustment over the Companion. The Companion kit will be altogether lighter than what you would need to move around for the Hijacker and is more cost-effective, but the trade-off for the auto slider is enough that the Hijacker wins in my book.
