Should a Folding Coupler Hinge Kit be Welded All the Way Around the Trailer Tongue
Question:
Am I correct in assuming that the above hinge kit should not be completely welded all around the 4 sides onto the tubing? As the bold-on ones are attached on the top and bottom, I suspect the welds should only be applied to the right angle portions of the hinge top/bottom and not the arched sides. Thanks

Actually, welding the folding hinge kit, # FHDPW330300, all the way around would prevent side to side movement of the tongue inside of the hinge so it is permissible to weld all the way around. The complete top and bottom and just a smaller bit on each side would also work. If it were me, I would make it as secure as possible.
