Yes, if your current hitch is mounted using the OEM puck system and you are moving into the same vehicle but longer bed, the OEM puck system will be the same and therefore mount without change. While a slide hitch is not needed for a long bed, for slow turns when a slide hitches' movement comes into play, it will not cause any issues outside the ever present need to be concerned with turning radius.
When you are ready to change 5th wheel hitch, I strongly suggest that you consider the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package, # BWRVK3600. This is specially designed to attach to the receivers in your prep package and is easily removed for full bed access when not needed. The 1" Thick dual jaws provide 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact which means less rattle and more security. It has a fully articulating head that eases hookup and helps to limit that annoying chucking. This head pivots front-to-back and side-to-side with 3 Height settings. It has a gross towing weight of 25,000 lbs. and a vertical load limit of 6,250 lbs. Made in the USA.
