Recommended Parts Needed to Tow 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio Behind a Motorhome

i have a light kit already and just need the base plate hook-up and a tow bar. simple, plain, and inexpensive. i am wondering if the following units match up together for hooking onto my motor home: BASEPLATE:521227-1 TOW BAR:63180 just want to make sure that these two will be all that i need and nothing else is needed other than a safety cable?

When towing behind a motorhome there are five required items: baseplates for towed vehicle, towbar, lights, supplemental braking system, safety cables, and lights.

The RoadMaster Base Plate # 521227-1 that you picked out will fit your 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio, however, the Tow Ready Towbar # 63180 is not rated for towing above 45mph, therefore, the RoadMaster # RM-020 is better suited for you.

When deciding upon the length of the safety cable you would like to use, one recommendation would be the RoadMaster 64 inch Single Hook # RM-645. These cables have a tow capacity of 8,000 lbs.

Finally, most states mandate that a supplemental braking system be used. Check with your states Department of Transportation for your specific regulations.
