Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Wiring For a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 jeep grand cherokee overland tow package. im interested in the tekonsha p3. I see you sell a kit. My car came with the pig tail minus the connector to the brake converter. can i get the P3 minus the pig tail or is it not worth the trouble? thanks

You can get the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 by itself for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since the P3 includes its own pigtail you will be able to wire it to your factory pigtail. The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # TK93VR is convenient as there is no soldering or wire connections necessary on your end, you just plug in both ends and you are ready to go. This helps prevent some other issues that occur as I have seen the wiring miss-wired as they try to connect matching colors and the colors of the wiring does not match the function from the factory pigtail to the Tekonha harness.
The Tekonsha pigtail will have a white wire(ground), black wire(12V power), red wire(brake switch signal), and blue wire(trailer brake output). Be sure to match the function with the wiring and not the colors.
