Mounting An Inno Ridge Rooftop Cargo Box On A Winnebago Travato

Question:

I have extra space in the existing roof rack on my Winnebago Travato and am looking for some extra storage space. The Inno roof box looks like a good fit but it will have to be mounted cross wise. Dimensionally, it looks good, but the Inno bottom appears to be contoured to fit a rack with the crossbars going the other direction. Do you have an engineering drawing showing the bottom. I realize the mounting will have to be modified, but I am willing to do that. Recommendations? Also, do you see any problems mounting across the RV, opening toward the back. Thanks

You're right that the Inno Ridge Rooftop Cargo Box - 8 cu ft - Gloss Black # INBRA220R-BK is contoured to sit lower around past the crossbars. This is for a more aerodynamic shape to cause less drag. Because of the way this cargo box mounts and the unique setup of your Winnebago Travato's roof rack system you would have to use some sort of crossbars to mount to. We don't have anything that would fit that small of gap between your rails, but since you're open to modification you could just make your own crossbar out of some sort of waterproof material that would allow you to run a bolt through it and into the channel of your roof rack.

If it's possible I recommend moving the solar panel to the other side of your vent and running the cargo box from front to back as this would solve your crossbar issue and make it super easy to install on your roof rack. This way would also be beneficial as the cargo box opens on the passenger side.
