Towing a 2019 Forest River Sandpiper 379FLOK 5th Wheel With Lifted 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
Question:
Thank you for the reply, so if the trailer will ride level, i should have no issue pulling and towing the sandpiper down the road? I am also looking at 2021 forest river 37fbt sabre as well, i just wanna make sure that i should have no issue pulling and towing that big of a camper with my 2016 chevy 2500hd duramax lifted 6, as long as the camper will be riding level

While lifted trucks are not the best choice for towing a 5th wheel RV, they can be used. The taller the truck is lifted, the more challenging it is. The RV will most likely need to be lifted as well so as to set level with the truck. This is workable but not best option. The Lippert Components Standard Axle Lift Kit, # LC425750 is one available option. This adds 1.88" of additional ground clearance to your leaf-spring single axle trailer. Flipping the axles is another possibility to gaining RV height providing your suspension not already above the axle opposed to below. The Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-385-00 works with 3" diameter axles.
For a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 without OEM Prep Package, I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3270 and the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # BWRVK2506.
