Compatibility of Conventional Ramp Door Springs to Be Used On a Trailer With Horizontally Split Door

Question:

Hi there! Id like to buy your dual spring trailer door spring 362SA8207. My application would be a little different though and I want to check it will work before I purchase. My ramp door is 8 wide but only 4 tall in a 7 opening the door is split in two and the top part opens upward like an awning, while the bottom part opens down like a ramp. So the cables would need to extend down from the spring rail about two and a half to three feet while its in the up position to reach the ramp door. Is that possible with this set up? I hope that makes sense. I can send photos if that would help. Thank you!

I do not see any reason that you will not be able to use the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA8207 on your trailer. You will have to make sure that the top door is opened before the bottom half since the angle of the cable will drag on the top of the door if it is closed.
