Left Tail Light on Trailer Towed By 2009 Honda Pilot not Working
Question:
I installed your wire harness kit but the one of the trailer lights is not working. The right is fine but the left will not light. Any suggestions?

As a first step, you will need to determine if the wiring problem exists on the vehicle or on the trailer itself.
Unplug the trailer, and use a circuit tester like part # 40376 on the 4-pole on the vehicle while each function is activated. The pin fed by the yellow wire should show power when the left turn signal or brake is activated. The pin fed by the green wire should show power when the right turn signal or brake is activated. The pin fed by the brown wire should show power when the running/headlights are turned on.
If the 4-pole on the vehicle checks out okay, you have confirmed that the vehicle is fine and the problem exists in the wiring on the trailer. Begin at the trailer connector, and make sure the connector itself is not corroded or damaged. Trace the left turn circuit from the trailer connector all the way back to the lamps, looking for loose connections or broken wires. Make sure the bulb in the left taillight is not burned out (dual filament bulbs can indeed have one filament burned out) and its socket is not corroded.
If the 4-pole on the vehicle does NOT test out okay, review the installation procedure to ensure that the fuses and relay have been placed in the proper position. For more details, please look at the FAQ article on troubleshooting.
If after reviewing the installation procedure and checking the wiring on the trailer the problem still cannot be found, get back with me and we will look into some other options.
