Better 5th Wheel Hitch Curt A16 or Curt E16

Question:

I have a 2022 Ram 2500 with an 8 foot bed with the Ram Towing Prep Package. I am looking at Curt 5th Wheel hitches. Which one do you recommend? The A16 or the E16.

I would by far recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Item # C16520-16021 over the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Item # C16515-16021. While they both have identical towing capacities the A16 is the superior 5th wheel hitch because of the dual locking jaw. The jaw design of the A16 allows for 360 degree contact with the kingpin. This results in a much smoother ride without the jarring and chucking that comes with the E16's single slide bar locking mechanism. Both 5th Wheel Hitches come with the Curt base that connects to your Ram Towing Prep Package.
