Can Wire Reducer Lugs Be Used To Get A 6 Gauge Wire Connected To The Pollack 7 Way PK11720?

Question:

Hi, Im running 6AWG wire from my starter battery to a DC/DC charger in my truck camper and would like to use a 7 pin Pollak plug to connect the truck to the camper and I would also like to bring my blinker and brake lights in through the same plug. Part 11-720 can accept 10 gauge wire, which can support 35 amps. If I can find a wire reducer lug that takes me from 6AWG down to 10AWG, will that work with the Pollak plug? Thanks!

The Pollak Heavy-Duty, 7-Pole, Round Pin # PK11720 can handle 6 volts to 28 volts and 40 continuous-duty amps, so if you can reduce that 6 gauge wire to a 10 gauge, there will be no problem wiring this up the way you need to. Guessing you probably checked out the wiring configuration for this, but I included it below as well, just in case.

White - Ground Return - 10 gauge (FMVSS-121 Anti-lock Gauge - 8)
Black - Clearance, Side Marker, Identification - 12 gauge
Yellow - Left Turn and Hazard Signal - 12 gauge
Red - Stop Lamps and Anti-Lock Devices - 10 gauge (FMVSS-121 Anti-lock Gauge 10)
Green - Right Turn and Hazard Signal - 12 gauge
Brown - Tail, Rear Clearance, Marker and License-Plate Lamps - 12 gauge
Blue - Auxiliary Circuit/ABS - 10 gauge
