Correct Hub and Washer Replacement for 1" Trailer Spindle

Question:

I need hubs. My old hubs did not have a washer under the castle nut. I want to use a washer under the castle nut on the new hubs. I measured the length of the spindle. The 1foot diameter only section is approx. 4 and 4/32inch using a machinists pocket scale, properly. I am not including the grease seal area in this measurement. Would these be the proper hubs to allow a washer under the castle nut? The grease seal inner diameter is 1 1/4 The center of the cotter pin hole is approx. 8/32inch measured the same way from the end of the axel shaft. Thanks,

The correct idler hub for a 1" spindle is the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 34822545BX. These will be used with a washer between the castle nut and outer bearing as should all trailer hubs. There isn't any one hub that's designed to be used with/without them, they should all be used with a washer. If you need a washer then you can use part # SW1000.
