To install the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 13,500 Btu # ACM135CH you were looking at on your 2020 Ford Transit you would need to reinforce the roof to support the weight of the rooftop unit and distribution box and most likely increase the roof thickness as this system requires a roof thickness of 2-1/2" to 5" thick.
The soft start capacitor included in this setup will drop the starting wattage down to 3,000 watts and this unit will kill your battery fairly quickly so you will need to use a generator to power the system. I recommend the etrailer Portable RV Generator # 333-0005 as it has a 4,500 starting watt rating and can be powered by either propane or gas.
Another cooling option that would require far less work would be to use a powered vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07000K. This vent has a powered fan that can be manually or thermostatically controlled to regulate the airflow in your van. This vent has an integrated rain shield that prevents rainwater from entering your vehicle and allows you to open the vent and operate the fan in any weather. The manual mode has 10 speed options that let you increase or reduce airflow and the reversible fan can circulate air like a ceiling fan when the vent is closed.
