Recommended Repair For Staples That Poke Through RV Roof

Question:

Along each side of my Aloha Roof on 2017 Keystone, the staples are pushing up thru the roofing material, making holes. I’ve pounded some back down but they don’t stay long and I’m afraid I’m going to do more damage. I saw a video to roll back the edges of the roof and replace the staples w screws, then glue it back down..does that found right? Alpha employee said that seemed like overkill but there are sooo many staples coming up. Keystone won’t help.

You could remove the roof to fix the staples but that would require a ton of work and can be costly, which is why Alpha said it would be overkill. You could just hammer the staples back down and just use some self leveling sealant like the Alpha Systems 1021 Self-Leveling Sealant for RVs - White - 10.3oz - Qty 1 # AL98KV to cover the holes for a watertight seal.
