20K or 27K Reese M5 Series for 2013 Voltage Fifth Wheel Towed By 2012 Ford F450
Question:
will the 18k be strong enough for my 2013 voltage triple Xle fifth wheel
asked by: Jim B
Expert Reply:
As long as the fully loaded (coach weight plus weight of cargo, water, propane, etc.) is below its 18,000 lb weight capacity, the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30921 will work great for you.
If the fully loaded and ready to tow weight of your fifth wheel is greater than 18,000 lbs, the M5 Series is also available in a 27K model, part # RP30922.
The M5 Series is the top of the line offering, featuring a one-piece jaw design that holds the king pin very securely, which helps keep any rattling to a minimum. The extra large 9 inch wide funnel helps guide the king pin to the hitch jaws, making hitching easier.
The wiring harness is included, but for your 2012 Ford F450, you will need the # RP30126 install kit, if you do not already have the Ford factory under-bed rails already installed.
