What Can be Done to Lower Nose of Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a BandW Companion on a Ram 2500 tradesman Cummins. I pull a Rockwood ultra lite 8929WS and it rides at about 4 to 5 inches from level putting more weight on rear trailer wheels. The tires show wear very quickly. Is there any way to level the trailer or lower the truck bed?

To lower the nose of your trailer you can try lowering the head of your hitch and also you could raise the pin box of your trailer into a higher set of mounting holes which would have same effect.

We also have lift kits for trailers like the Correct Track part # RR23QX which can give you an additional 2-1/4 inches of height. This combined with maybe lowering the hitch head or adjusting pin box like I mentioned might be able to get you level. Keep in mind you want to have at least 4-6 inches between the overhang of the trailer and the bed rails of the truck.
