Comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for The Rear Suspension of a 2021 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I have a 2021 Toyota Tundra and I'm looking at the Timbren and SumoSprings as a possible add on. Can you explain to me the differences in these systems so that I may better understand which will be best for my truck?

The main difference when comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for suspension enhancement is going to be the weight capacities. Timbren uses hollow rubber springs that is able to support more weight but they can cause a firmer ride. The SumoSprings are made of a durable microcellular urethane that will progressively increase capacity as the spring is compressed. This will offer a smoother ride as the springs will better absorb the shock but they do not offer the capacity and stability of the Timbren. Both products offer different weight ratings that will help in your decision making process. Do remember that these products are not increasing payload or towing capability, they are only making your vehicle safer to operate by helping to support the rear suspension.

For me it comes down to what your Tundra will be used for. If your Tundra is always loaded with additional weight and you want to increase your stability the Timbren is the route you should look.

6,000LB Timbren # TTORTUN4
7,000LB Timbren # T62FR

If your Tundra is a daily driver with occasional loads that you want to keep the rear from sagging as much the SumoSprings are the one's I recommend.

1,000LB SumoSprings # SSR-610-40
1,500LB SumoSprings # SSR-610-47
2,800LB SumoSprings # SSR-610-54
