im wondering if this hitch adapter will work with my 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD short bed pick-up? Or should I go with the off-set model?

Since you have a short bed 2008 Chevy Silverado the offset Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 would have the best chance of allowing you to make sharp turns.

To be certain you can take a few measurements from your setup and plug them into a formula to see if you would have enough clearance to make sharp corners.

The formula looks like this:

(A + B) - C = Clearance

A = Distance from center of gooseneck ball to truck cab

B = Length of offset (the # CAB-C5GX1216 realistically has a 0 offset because the pivot point of the trailer does not change)

C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)

You will need to take the A and C measurements.
