Can 50 Amp RV Connect to 30 Amp Power Source

Question:

Bought 50 amp 5er. Have very expensive 30 amp adaptors and extension cords left from 30 amp trailer. My amp/gauge/etc knowledge is fair. knowing I would limit amps used to be below the input, I believe there is no problem continuing to use the 30 amp cord and adaptors for my new 50 amp 5er. Worst case examples: 25’ 50 amp cord to 50/30 adaptor to 50’ 30 amp cord to either 30 amp or 30/110 adaptor to 110. Or, 25’ 50 amp cord to 50/110 adaptor to 100’ 10 gauge extension cord to house 110. I did all of this with my 30 amp trailer with no issues. Need second opinion as I may have some electrical knowledge but it is nothing to mess around with or make guesses about.

You can hook up your 50 amp RV to a 30 amp power source so long as you have an adapter like the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter - 50 Amp Female to 30 Amp Male # A10-3050FHVP.

Since you mentioned you are using an adapter you can do this and won't have any problems. If you need any other type of 50 amp to 30 amp adapter I have added a link below to our entire selection.
