Where to Attach the Curt Support Strap on a 2012 Toyota Highlander

Where on the back of my Highlander do I attach the strap?

Normally we recommend that the Curt Stabilizer Strap # 18050 get hooked to the top of the trunk lid or top of the hatch, since your vehicle has a small spoiler this can be prove to be a difficult situation. If the spoiler has metal support underneath it then you can still run strap over the spoiler.

If the spoiler is plastic without any metal supports underneath it then you could potentially damage the spoiler by running the strap over it. In this case we recommend lowering the attachment point of the strap on the bike rack to the upright mast and then run the strap to the lower edge of the hatch opening.
