Recommended Lifting Jack To Carry With a Utility Trailer For Changing Flat Tires

Question:

I have a small 8ft. long utility trailer and recently I had a flat and was very hard to change the tire since I only had my cars scissor jack. I was looking at a scissor jack on your site max load 6500lbs, but it doesnt come with the crank handle. How much extra is the crank handle or is it possible to get a fitting i.e. socket to use with a cordless drill to raise the jack?

I am going to recommend the Powerbuilt Unijack # ALL620470 for carrying with your utility trailer as the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jack # UF48-979032 is only designed to stabilize a trailer and is not to be used to lift the trailer axle off the ground.

The Powerbuilt Unijack # ALL620470 uses a hydraulic jack with a built in jack stand that will make it safer to use while you are changing the tire. It has a weight capacity of 4,000lbs, which is likely more than your 8' utility trailer is capable of weighing. And a lift range of 8-5/8" to 18-3/8" tall. Weighing only 16lbs it is also not difficult to position.
