Will Curt A25 For 2019 Ram 3500 Long Bed With Factory Prep Package Have Clearance Height

Question:

Hi. I have a stock 2019 Ram 3500 srw with rail height at 59”. The bottom of the trailer pin sits 46”. The plate is at 49”. My truck bed is at 40”. With the Curt A25 puck system in lowest position it sits about 15” high bringing it to 55” from ground. . If i move it a position or two up will I have enough clearance? Thanks. Single old woman new to 5ers.

The fifth-wheel hitch's height setting is taken by measuring from the ground to the king pin, then from the ground to your truck bed, you'll subtract the second measurement from the first for the proper height setting. So if you have a rail height of 59 inches, and the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16046 at its lowest position is 55 inches, if you move it up to its highest position you'll add another four inches, for 59 inches.

You also want to be sure there is about 5 inches from the top of your rails to the king pin plate. So it sounds like you may not quite have enough clearance with the A25 # C16046. There is only one other hitch with more potential clearance, the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600.
