Can The Wheel Trays On The Saris Freedom Handle My Salsa Bike?

Question:

I have been gifted a Saris Freedom 2 rack and am reading some bad things about the quality and reliability of the wheel trays - both original, replacement and fat bike upgrades. Can you share your qualified opinion about this please, and or if there are any special precautions I might take to not risk damage or loss of my precious Salsa bike?!? Very much appreciate anything you can share or offer! Thanks

We have carried the Saris Freedom, like the # SA4412B, for a number of years now and I have personally not had any calls or emails regarding issues with the wheel trays. This goes for replacements ( # SA25640 and # SA25641) and the fat tire adapters ( # SA4419). However, I have had a few people tell me the straps can be a little difficult to use when its cold out and they are brand new, but with use they do get more flexible so I would call it more of a very minor annoyance at first rather than an issue.

As long as everything is secured properly and your bike, or bikes, stay within the 60 pounds per bike weight limit, I have the utmost confidence that this rack will be a good one for you.

Just as a side note, Saris offers a lifetime warranty for the Freedom bike rack, and they absolutely stand by that as well if you every need to use it.
